Discuss a repair visit before making plans around it
If you commute by bicycle, visiting a workshop during opening hours may be inconvenient. You can enquire about a mobile bicycle repair appointment at your workplace. Whether this is suitable depends on the fault, access and the available workspace. Send your work postcode and bicycle problem via WhatsApp so we can discuss the options before confirming a visit.
Who needs to approve the location?
Ask your employer, building manager or site owner whether an external mechanic may work on the premises. A bicycle parking area is not automatically an authorised repair space. Explain any visitor registration requirements, vehicle restrictions or limits on where work may take place. These arrangements should be checked before an appointment is agreed.
Do I need to be available during the visit?
Discuss who will provide access to the bicycle and who can approve the proposed work. If your schedule includes meetings, agree how you can be contacted after assessment. Do not assume that a repair can be completed without any communication. If another person is providing access, make sure they understand the arrangements.
Which information helps prepare the appointment?
Include the bicycle brand and type, the symptoms and when they started. Photos can help: an overall image and a close-up of the affected area are useful. For a tyre problem, include the size printed on the sidewall. For an e-bike, share the drive system and any error message. Do not remove components or ride an unsafe bicycle simply to document the fault.
Will the bicycle be ready before I leave work?
That cannot be assumed from an enquiry alone. Inspection, parts and scheduling affect what can be completed. Some faults require specialist equipment or a workshop. Explain any deadline when requesting the appointment, and discuss what happens if the work cannot be completed during that visit. Avoid relying on an unconfirmed completion time for your journey home.
Can colleagues include their bicycles?
You can ask whether several bicycles at the same address can be assessed together. Describe each bicycle separately and identify who approves work for each owner. Additional bicycles do not automatically fit into the same appointment or qualify for a discount. The scope and time needed should be discussed in advance.
What should I ask about pricing?
Ask whether the estimate includes inspection, labour, parts and call-out costs. Clarify how additional work will be explained and authorised after assessment. Agree who is responsible for payment rather than assuming the employer will cover it. Clear pricing is about understanding the proposed service and its costs, not simply choosing the lowest headline figure.
What if my bicycle is rented or leased?
Contact the provider before arranging independent repairs. It may have its own service process or requirements. Share any relevant instructions before booking. Permission to park a bicycle at work does not replace the bicycle owner's permission for repair.
Use specific reviews to compare services
Genuine experiences about communication, cost explanations and work carried out are more useful than a star rating alone. After your appointment, honest feedback is welcome, including suggestions about what could be improved. No review can replace the individual arrangements for your own bicycle and workplace.
Request a workplace repair enquiry via WhatsApp
Send your work postcode, bicycle details and information about location permission. You can enquire for workplaces in Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague or Schiedam. Availability and suitability are discussed before confirmation. Do not ride if you have concerns about brakes, a loose wheel or another safety-critical part. A message is an enquiry, not a confirmed appointment or emergency dispatch.
